SCLA Claims Conference in Orlando a Huge Success!

Claims professionals who achieved a designation from American Educational Institute within the past year were recognized for their achievements at the Annual SCLA Claims Conference & Designation Reception. The Conference took place in Orlando, November 3–5, 2011. Those in attendance also furthered their professional development by participating in six claims law seminars presented at the Conference:

  • How Canines are Used to Detect Ignitable Residue in Fire Investigations, co-presented by Brian Riedmayer and Thomas Young, along with Julie, the Accelerant Detection Dog, Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc.

  • How to Pro-Actively Defend Catastrophic Personal Injury Cases, presented by Michael Patterson, Esq., Patterson Buchanan Fobes Leitch & Kalzer, Inc., Seattle.

  • Conflicts, Conflicts Everywhere: Claim Handling Issues & Procedures When Conflicts of Interest Arise, presented by Janis Puracal, Esq., Bullivant Houser Bailey, PC.

  • Realistic Supervision of Technology & Social Media, presented by Charles Leitch, Esq., Patterson Buchanan Fobes Leitch & Kalzer, Inc., Seattle.

Over 65 AEI designees were honored at the Designation Conferment Ceremony and later celebrated their achievements at the Designation Dinner. Carl Van, President & CEO of International Insurance Institute spoke at the Designation Ceremony about the importance of continuing professional education.
