Who can join the SCLA?
If you have earned a claim law designation from American Educational Institute (AEI), you are eligible to become a member of the SCLA. AEI presently offers six Claim Law Programs: Legal Principles; Liability; Property; Workers’ Compensation; Law of Claims Fraud Investigation and Defense; and Law of Automobile Claims and Coverage. The Claim Law Specialist designation is earned by completing any one of AEI’s Claim Law Programs. The Claim Law Associate designation is earned by completing the Legal Principles program and one or more of the other programs. The “ultimate” designation a claims professional can earn is the SCLA (Senior Claim Law Associate). The SCLA designation is earned by completing the Legal Principles Program and any three of the other five programs. Thus, SCLA represents two things–The Society of Claim Law Associates itself, and also American Educational Institute’s highest professional designation, the “ultimate in claims law professionalism,” the Senior Claim Law Associate designation.
Thousands of skilled claims professionals have earned these designations. Designees are encouraged to use their designation in their professional capacity. This can include signature lines on correspondence, business cards, a professional resume and bylines on claim law articles authored by designees. Using the designation in this way will help facilitate industry awareness of the Society and highlight the value of the designation itself.
The SCLA is committed to promoting industry-wide recognition of the AEI Designation Program. For more information about AEI’s Claim Law Programs and professional designations, visit the AEI website at www.aeiclaimslaw.com or contact an AEI representative at (800) 631-8183.
